Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded an AED 10.90 million contract for a project in Hatta, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The project covers a 562-metre Glass-Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) water pipeline with a 1,500-millimetre diameter. It also includes constructing a jet valve chamber to extend the lower outlet valve of the Hatta Dam to the Wadi area.
This comes as a part of the pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant that the DFM-listed firm is currently developing in Hatta, which is the first station of its kind in the GCC region.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, pointed out that this project backs their plan to evolve Hatta and address its social, economic, developmental, and environmental requirements.
In the first nine months (9M) of 2023, the DFM-listed company recorded net profits attributable to the owners valued at AED 5.99 billion, an annual decline from AED 6.23 billion.
Revenues climbed by 7.40% to AED 22.16 billion as of 30 September 2023 from AED 20.62 billion in 9M-22.
