DEWA reports over 6m digital transactions in H1-23

Dubai – Mubasher: Customers of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) carried out 6.30 million digital transactions in the first half (H1) of 2023, according to a press release.

The transactions were executed through DEWA’s website and smart app, as well as the different digital channels offered by the authority in collaboration with its partners from the public and private sectors.

In addition, DEWA’s smart adoption rate for its services was 99% by the end of June 2023.

Managing Director (MD) and CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said: “This aligns with the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, Dubai’s Digital Strategy, and the Services 360 policy by the Government of Dubai to provide seamless, proactive, integrated, and specialised services that meet customer expectations.”

Al Tayer added: “In the Year of Sustainability in the UAE, we intensify our efforts to anticipate and shape the future, enhance our global leadership and excellence in digital transformation, and develop our technological infrastructure.”

He concluded: “We will continue to provide innovative and proactive services based on stakeholder analysis and accurate understanding of their needs.” 

It is worth noting that DEWA signed a water reservoir project agreement valued at AED 157.40 million in the Lusaily area in May 2023.

In H1-23, the authority achieved net profits attributable to the shareholders worth AED 2.67 billion while the revenues stood at AED 12.72 billion.
