Aman reports 117% higher net profits in 2020

Dubai – Mubasher: The net profits attributable to the shareholders of Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman) jumped by 117% to AED 19.049 million in 2020 from AED 8.768 million in 2019.

The company's revenues reached AED 229.157 million last year, up from AED 249.518 million in 2019, as shown by the company's preliminary financial results for 2020.

Moreover, Aman's gross written contributions hit AED 229.2 million in 2020.

The earnings per share (EPS) settled at AED 0.084 in 2020, versus AED 0.039 during the earlier year.

The Chairman of Aman’s board, Saleh Al Hashemi, commented: "During the year we established an ambitious new three-year growth plan and we will build on the initial benefits already achieved to realize our goal to be a leader in the UAE’s Takaful Insurance market."

Meanwhile, Aman's CEO, Jihad Faitrouni, said: "The company has managed to make significant progress in strengthening and growing its core businesses and diversifying its product and service offerings amidst the challenges of the global pandemic."

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first nine months of 2020, Aman's net profits attributable to the shareholders increased by 14% to AED 9.94 million from AED 8.7 million in the same period of 2019.
