Kuwait’s Hayat inks $9m deals with UAE’s Etisalat

Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwaiti company Hayat Communications said it signed three deals with Emirates Telecommunications Corp (Etisalat) at a total value of $9.06 million (AED 33.3 million).

The first contract, amounting to AED 25 million, spans three years and entails civil and electrical works for Etisalat’s telecom towers, said Amer Hayat, head of Hayat’s commercial sector.

The second two-year contract involves installing equipment for Etisalat’s towers in the UAE at a cost of AED 7 million.

The third contract is worth AED 1.3 million, spans five years and provides annual maintenance and services to Etisalat’s stations, Hayat said.

He said he expects the contracts to have a positive effect on the company’s financial position, with profits estimated at around 10% of the contracts’ value.

The new deals boost Hayat’s total signed contracts in 2015 to more than AED 143 million.

In March, the Kuwaiti firm signed a contract to provide maintenance services to the fixed and mobile networks of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Co. (du) in the emirate of Dubai and the northern emirates, in a three-year deal worth AED 110 million, Hayat said.
