GCC bourses' fluctuation likely to continue Monday – Analysts

By Mahmoud Gamal

Mubasher: GCC stock markets are forecast to keep putting in a volatile performance on Monday amid investors' growing concerns over world markets in spite of some stimulating six-month financials, according to analysts.

Most major equity markets in the region are forecast to see more sell-offs and traders' growing caution in general, said market analyst Adnan Al Delmi.

"Portfolios formed a new selling power on Sunday amid lower liquidity levels. In addition, stocks significantly respond to the disclosure of the first six-month financial results", Al Delmi added.

Economic analyst Ali Al-Mubarak noted that foreign traders in emerging markets in particular tend to retain part of their money due to the current instable state hitting global and oil markets.

Most portfolios are likely to keep liquidating and partially taking profits today until the stock markets' general trend is decided, finding as well the proper mechanism for facing the present economic situation, which is similar to the 2007-08 financial crisis, Hamoud Al-Shammari concluded.
