Egyptian Exchange’s indices plunge on Thursday; turnover hits over EGP 7bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices tumbled on Thursday, after showing a positive performance yesterday.

The EGX30 main index dropped 4.50% to 28,332.65 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI plunged by 4.82% to 6,504.19 points.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI plummeted 5.01% to close at 9,257.92 points.

A total of 4.56 billion shares were exchanged at a value of EGP 7.14 billion. In addition, the market cap value of EGX hit EGP 1.91 trillion at the end of the session.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian and Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 1.15 million and EGP 288.11 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, the foreign investors were the net sellers with EGP 1.44 billion.
