CBE unveils EGP 65.5bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 60 billion through two equal auctions on Monday, 29 April 2024.

The first auction will mature in 91 days on 30 July this year, while the second tranche carries a 273-day maturity period until 28 January 2025, according to official data.

Furthermore, the CBE issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 500 million through one offering, which holds a tenor of five years until 30 April 2029.

The central bank unveiled zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 5 billion through one tranche that holds a 518-day maturity period until 30 September 2025.

Earlier this week, the financial authority auctioned T-bonds and T-bills at an aggregated value of EGP 58 billion over three issues.
