CBE issues debt instruments worth EGP 49bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 45 billion through two offerings on Wednesday, 1 May 2024.

With a tenor of 182 days until 5 November this year, the first tranche stood at EGP 25 billion, according to official data.

The second auction was valued at EGP 20 billion and will mature in 364 days on 6 May 2025.

The CBE also offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 4 billion through one issue, which holds a tenor of three years until 7 May 2027.

Earlier this week, on 29 April, the financial authority announced debt instruments valued at EGP 65.50 billion over three tranches.
