CBE issues T-bills, T-bonds worth EGP 58bn on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 55 billion through two tranches on Sunday, 28 April 2024.

The first auction stood at EGP 30 billion and will mature in 182 days on 29 October this year, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second tranche was valued at EGP 25 billion, holding a 364-day maturity period until 29 April 2025.

The CBE also issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 3 billion through one offering. The coupon carries a tenor of three years until 16 April 2027.

It is worth highlighting that the financial authority resumed operations today after halting business last Thursday, in celebration of Sinai Liberation Day.
