Tadawul sees highest level in month

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s trading in the green zone for the third session in a row, reaching its highest level in around a month.

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) gained 1.56% or 88.12 points, and closed at the level of 5,739.92 points, its highest in 19 sessions, since it closed at 5956.59 on 26 September.

The main index reached this level after three consecutive rises, through which it added 5.11% or 278.98 points.

Turnover declined by 16.3% and totalled SAR 3.34 billion compared to SAR 3.99 billion in last session, while total traded volumes increased by 5.66% to 279.34 million shares from 264.38 million.

As for the sectors’ performance, most of them rose today except for the energy sector, which was the only decliner as it lost 0.11%.

Meanwhile, the remaining 14 sectors increased between 4.13% for hotels, and 0.64% for multi-investment.

Real estate development went up by 3.21% on the back of Dar Al Arkan which surged 9.81%, while banks and petrochem gained 1.35% and 0.75% respectively.

A total of 150 or around 88.76% of total stocks closed in the green zone, led by Trade Union and AlRajhi Takaful which gained 9.91% and 9.85% respectively.

On the other hand, 18 stocks or 10.6% of the total, declined today, led by Takween and APC which lost 6.03% and 3.28%.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active in both traded volume and value, it dominated 27% of total values, and 11.47% of total volumes, with 75.64 million shares traded at a total turnover of SAR 383.2 million.
