Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) will start the production at its project - Al Taweelah Alumina refinery – by 2018, said chief executive Abdulla Kalban.
The value of the investments injected in Al Taweelah refinery amount to nearly $2.7 billion, with annual production capacity up to 2 million tons, added executive in exclusive statement to Mubasher.
EGA has nearly completed 25% of the project’s development said Kalban, noting that the project is expected to meet 50% of Emirates Aluminum (EMAL) needs of hot metal.
Emirates Aluminum (EMAL) is an operating subsidiary of Emirates Global Aluminum (“EGA”). Having produced its first hot metal in 2009.
Emirates Aluminum was established as a joint venture between Mubadala Investment Company and DUBAL in February 2007 and designed to become one of the world’s largest single-site primary aluminum smelters.
