Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Sunday's trading activity on a stronger note backed by local buying activity.
The main index EGX30 added 18 points, or 0.22%, to stand at 8,295 points by 10:30am Cairo time.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.31% to 336.5 points.
The broader index EGX100 and the equal-weighted EGX50 were higher 0.3% and 0.4%, respectively.
Local traders were net buyers by EGP 6.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 5.7 million and EGP 1 million.
Trading value reached EGP 53 million after 17.8 million shares were traded.
MubasherTrade Research expected the EGX30 to continue rising towards 8,315 points on Sunday.
On Thursday, EGX ended the trading session on a positive note, snapping a four-day losing streak and its main index leapt 1.4% or 116.8 points to the level of 8,277.2 points.
